Coupon Organization

Coupon organization is not something that I thought I would need other then the little folio that I stick in my purse and forget about. The coupons expire before I remember I have them. Then November happened and all the birthday coupons came rolling in and I shoved each in my purse. It's a mess:

I found inspiration for this coupon organizer from Simple Organized Living via pinterest and decided it was the best for me because I am by no means a "couponer," I just wanted something that I could start using to save a little money here or there.

Taken from Simple Organized Living (link to post above)

I used a cute coupon organizer that I found at Target because this is something I am going to keep in my purse and it was less then a dollar more then the plastic ones! I used index cards and a sharpie pen instead of card stock because it was cheaper then buying a pack of card stock and having a bunch leftover.
Supplies!

Since it is a 13 pocket organizer you can divide into 13 main categories. Below is the list of mine (and sub categories) and if you go back to the original post that I linked above you can see her list. Pick your categories so that they make sense for how you shop. Put them in alphabetical order

  1. Stores - Bed, Bath& Beyond, Biggby, DSW, NY&Co, Old Navy, Meijer, Petco/Petsmart, Restaurants, other
  2. Baking - mixes, supplies, other
  3. Beverages - bottled, coffee/tea, mixes
  4. Breakfast - cereal, granola bars, oatmeal, other
  5. Canned - fruit/vegetables, soup, tomato products, other
  6. Cleaning - air fresheners/candles, bathroom, kitchen, laundry, other
  7. Condiments - basic, salad toppings, sauces/seasonings, other
  8. Dairy/Produce - cheese, produce, yogurt, other
  9. Frozen/Meat - meals, meat, snacks, vegetables, other
  10. Paper - bathroom, kitchen, other
  11. Pets - food, liter, treats, other
  12. Snacks - cookies, crackers, salty, other
  13. Toiletries - body wash, dental, deodorant, feminine, hair, medicine, other
Write the categories and sub categories on the index cards and place them in the dividers and add your coupons.

Filled and ready to go!

Now that looks better. :)
