Coupon organization is not something that I thought I would need other then the little folio that I stick in my purse and forget about. The coupons expire before I remember I have them. Then November happened and all the birthday coupons came rolling in and I shoved each in my purse. It's a mess:
I found inspiration for
this coupon organizer from Simple Organized Living via
pinterest and decided it was the best for me because I am by no means a "couponer," I just wanted something that I could start using to save a little money here or there.

I used a cute coupon organizer that I found at Target because this is something I am going to keep in my purse and it was less then a dollar more then the plastic ones! I used index cards and a sharpie pen instead of card stock because it was cheaper then buying a pack of card stock and having a bunch leftover.

Supplies! |
Since it is a 13 pocket organizer you can divide into 13 main categories. Below is the list of mine (and sub categories) and if you go back to the original post that I linked above you can see her list. Pick your categories so that they make sense for how you shop. Put them in alphabetical order
- Stores - Bed, Bath& Beyond, Biggby, DSW, NY&Co, Old Navy, Meijer, Petco/Petsmart, Restaurants, other
- Baking - mixes, supplies, other
- Beverages - bottled, coffee/tea, mixes
- Breakfast - cereal, granola bars, oatmeal, other
- Canned - fruit/vegetables, soup, tomato products, other
- Cleaning - air fresheners/candles, bathroom, kitchen, laundry, other
- Condiments - basic, salad toppings, sauces/seasonings, other
- Dairy/Produce - cheese, produce, yogurt, other
- Frozen/Meat - meals, meat, snacks, vegetables, other
- Paper - bathroom, kitchen, other
- Pets - food, liter, treats, other
- Snacks - cookies, crackers, salty, other
- Toiletries - body wash, dental, deodorant, feminine, hair, medicine, other
Write the categories and sub categories on the index cards and place them in the dividers and add your coupons.
